Taking Cynovial As A Young Athlete

Cynovial

Like most people, I was somewhat sceptical when I first got the bottle of supplement.

Just like many other supplements in the market, I always thought that we don't need them if we are not experiencing any pain or dysfunction in our daily activities. However, I once had an operation done on my right wrist, and I decided that maybe this supplement could be beneficial.

 Cynovial contains the following ingredients:

  1. Undenatured Type II Collagen (found in chicken breast cartilage)
  2. Turmeric (Curcumin)
  3. Ginger
  4. Indian Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata)
  5. Indian Ginseng (Ashwagandha)

Though these could be found in the food that we eat, we may not be consuming them sufficiently or regularly. If you are suffering from joint discomfort, there's a high chance you are not consuming enough of them. This is pretty much like other supplements in the market.

As a cyclist, I spend a lot of time on the saddle. Even though cycling is a low impact sport compared to other sports like running, we still put quite a bit of strain on our knees. The stress is even more substantial for people who pedal at lower cadences of below 90 revolutions per minute.

Being a cyclist who has trained seriously for slightly over a year, I haven't experienced pain in my joints apart from my occasional discomfort in my knee, which were mitigated by a professional podiatrist who looked into my bike fit and cleat positioning. I believe combining a proper bike fit and nutrition is an excellent two-prong approach to inhibit joint pain from cycling.

We all know how essential joints are, especially for people who exercise regularly. An injured knee could prematurely put you out of action, and your fitness could decline while you recover.

The suggested dosage for Cynovial is one capsule twice a day with a meal as a dietary supplement. Since the bottle comes with 60 capsules, one bottle should be able to last you for an entire month.

I take one capsule after breakfast almost every morning. If I had to point out one improvement, it could probably be the improvement of my wrist stability during longer rides. Ever since I had a surgical repair on my right wrist (Right Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex), longer rides tend to cause minor discomfort while holding onto the handlebars. After taking the supplement, my wrist didn't feel pain even after the last few rides, which were over 3 hours in duration.

I'm not a nutritionist, but Cynovial is more 'natural' compared to other supplements in the market. Cynovial contains all-natural ingredients with no added preservatives, additives, colourings, or flavourings. Most other brands may contain ingredients found at the back of the bottle that we find hard even to pronounce. I would rather stay on the safe side and understand the ingredients in the supplements that I consume.

To sum up, I believe that Cynovial has its value as a supplement. Those of us who are lucky to go by without experiencing pain may not require Cynovial at the moment. But, for those who may increase the intensity or duration of their exercises, their joints may have the possibility of failing, causing a sprain or something even more severe when that dreaded time arrives.

I believe the value of Cynovial is something like an assurance that your joints are healthy and well when they need to be.
